With Philadelphia public schools mandating remote learning through at least mid-November, Vaux Big Picture High School has implemented a virtual learning program for the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, which includes individualized remote learning. Students also have the option of attending on-site Support PODS that include tutoring support, social-emotional support, post-secondary support, and technology support services. At Vaux BPHS students and families can also access health care supports.
Online student attendance is being tracked by advisors and staff, all of which is communicated to the School District of Philadelphia.
All students will continue to participate in Real World Learning/Learning Through Internships (RWL/LTI) twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, most RWL/LTI opportunities are available through our robust virtual real world learning program. Limited options exist for in person connections between mentors and students; in this case, both families and mentors must sign legal waivers.
