SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY

Our students' and staff members' safety, both physically and emotionally, is a top priority for the entire Vaux Big Picture High School community. We have a five-person Positive Support Team who greet students when they come into the building at the start of the day, monitor the hallways in between project blocks and activities, and help ensure an orderly dismissal at the end of the day.

ABOUT REAL WORLD LEARNING TRANSPORTATION

9th and 10th grade students who leave the building for Real World Learning activities like workplace site visits, shadow days, and Learning Through Internship Cohorts are escorted in groups by their Advisor or other school staff or transported as a group to their internship site via a bus chartered by Vaux Big Picture High School.

11th and 12th grade students who have individual internships on Tuesdays and Thursdays are provided with a SEPTA key card or trans pass to cover transportation costs to go directly from home to their internship site and back.

DISMISSAL PROCEDURE

In an effort to ensure a safe and efficient dismissal at the end of the school day, we are staggering dismissals. We also ask that all caretakers pick their students up on 23rd or 24th street for dismissal.

*Please note that once students exit, they will not be allowed to re-enter the building. All students participating in after-school programs will meet in Room 404. All athletes will either meet in the gym or in the coach's classroom.
